Optimistic October - Action for Happiness

Each month I share the Action for Happiness calendar - and encourage everyone to take a few minutes each day to absorb the prompts, to focus on their inner self, on their own well-being, and on the importance of giving yourself permission to just be.

This month's prompt is Optimistic October - and if you click on the image below you can download your own printable version of this month's calendar, and (like I do) stick it somewhere obvious so you can't help but see it every day.

It's so easy - especially when the days are getting shorter, the weather is getting bleaker, and there's a nip in the air - to get stuck on the gloomier thoughts. To focus more on the light dimming earlier, rather than on the opportunity it brings to be cosy, to light candles, to sit by a roaring fire with a delicious mug of something sweet, a favourite book, and perhaps a furry friend curled close by.

The daily prompts this month are all about choosing the small changes in your mindset, breaking things down into small, managable steps, being kind to yourself, patient with your own needs, and reminding yourself that all progress is progress.
